ABC's 'Bingo Night' Gives Viewers Winning Chance

ABC Television is starting a nationwide bingo game in hopes of getting more people to watch television on Friday nights. The twist? Viewers at home can play along with the interactive game and win cash, trips and prizes.

During the hour-long series "National Bingo Night," viewers print their own Bingo cards and mark off numbers as they're called. Those who get Bingo log on to a special Web site for their chance to win, according to the network.

In the studio, a contestant will race against the studio audience as balls numbered from 1 to 75 are randomly selected from a giant, 2 1/2-story sphere in a high tech "Bingo Plex" arena.

The audience will track the numbers on their own cards for a chance to win cash and send the contestant home empty-handed.

The hour-long series will be hosted by "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" design team contributor Ed Sanders. "National Bingo Night" premieres Friday, May 18, at 9 p.m. on ABC.
