Second reading for Catawba Bingo Hall in Marion County set
Marion County residents could get one step closer to having an Indian Bingo facility Tuesday morning. The Marion County Council is scheduled to give second reading to an ordinance that would allow the Catawba Indian Tribe to set up a bingo hall at the former Carolina Amphitheater grounds.
Council approved the first reading last month. In the proposed ordinance, only real bingo would be allowed. The ordinance aslo states that no electronic bongo, no video poker, and no fee to enter the facility would be allowed.
The Catawba's also plan to develop lodging, and waterpark, and an equestrian center near the bingo hall.
